"Face Value" or Nominal Value is the value of a coin, bond, stamp, or banknote as determined by the issuing authority.
In Face Value, Lazar Stojić questions the materiality and fictionality of value. Here, not gold but Plexiglas forms three bars, whose transparency refers to the lost materiality of value. The surface of the bars is adapted to the sizes of the 100-, 200-, and 500-euro banknotes. Through the Plexiglas, the banknotes seem to take on virtual dimensions, which emphasizes the abstract quality of their value.
